Handmade vintage embellished primitive folk art doll. This 26" ballerina is machine sewn, stuffed, assembled, painted, aged and embellished. Vintage buttons are used for her eyes; a Cinderella Flour sack for her body, quilt scrap nose, silk ribbon bodice rosette coming from a real ballerina's costume, Victorian petticoat or baby christening gown skirt with a tulle underskirt, ribbon slippers, hat pin crown, couture ribbon - all Pennsylvania vintage! This is my workshop doll and where she will be shown for the first time in beautiful, historic Nantes, France on April 23rd!
