Held at the David L Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh (directly across the Allegheny River from the place where I was born). The booths were set up like perfectly placed dominoes and oh so beautiful every last one of them! In my 50 years of needling, working at Joann Fabrics and buying/selling vintage quilts and textiles, this was my first time attending Quilt Market. My "credentials" permitted me to receive an Industry Professional Badge and off I went from booth to booth. This event was not open to the general public but is rather a wholesale show for shop owners and designers. A first look at newly released fabrics and tools of the trade with classes also offered.
First experience attending Quilt Market and am incredibly excited to do so. It is a wholesale market open only to those with the proper credentials. An Industry Professional Badge is what I'm after…need two of five required documentations and realize I have four of those plus could probably beg for the fifth. Attending as a customer rather than a supplier for this one. A huge conference hall filled with kindred spirits…count me in!
